Obituary
Camille Hottensen-DePalma, 73, of Westbury, passed away on March 4 after bravely fighting injuries sustained in an accident in December.
*
Camille was born on December 29, 1951, to Salvatore and Rose Laurice (née Campione). She dedicated her life to her family, always offering kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support to those she loved.
*
To know Camille was to love her. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and her sons’ friends were no exception. To them, she was their mom too. They fondly called her “Mom,” a testament to the love, warmth, and care she showed to everyone who walked through her door.
*
Above all, Camille was a truly devoted mother. She lived for her sons, taking immense pride in their accomplishments and always being their biggest supporter. Her love for them was unconditional, and her greatest joy was watching them build their own families. She adored her grandchildren, considering them her greatest legacy.
*
She cherished the deep bonds she shared with her closest friends and cousins, whom she considered the sisters she chose in life. Her home in Florida was her happy place, where she made lasting memories with her beloved neighbors and enjoyed the sunshine.
*
She is survived by her sons John, David (Elizabeth), and Christopher (Jennifer), and her grandchildren Adriana & Daniella DePalma, Matthew & Thomas DePalma, and Jaxson DePalma. She is also survived by her brother, Carmine Laurice. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jeffrey Hottensen.
*
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, from 4-8 p.m. at Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 11, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Frances de Chantal in Wantagh, NY.
*
Camille’s love, strength, and kindness will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
