I am saddened by the passing of my brother-in-law, Joe. I have known him for many years as I came into the family at only 19 years old. I always looked up to him and admired him. He was like a second father to me always caring and giving advice. He would always ask about my children and grandchildren and smiled when he saw pictures and videos of them. We shared so many wonderful and fun times together not only in Wantagh but also in his "happy place" in Naples, Florida. He called it his "paradise". We lived around the corner from him in Island Walk and now each time I pass his block it reminds me that he is no longer there. I no longer have to stop by and check in on him or run an errand for him.
He was the leader in Naples and we all followed in his footsteps and bought houses in his beloved Island Walk. He was the "Chief" and I admired his loyalty to the NYC Fire Department. He loved telling stories about his job. He had a big responsibility.
but handled it calmly and efficiently.
Joe, you will be missed, but your memories will remain in my heart. I am going to remember him with the above, smiling picture.
St. John Chrysostom wrote, "They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before.....They are now wherever we are.".
Rest in Peace and say 'Hi" to Bunny for me. I miss her too!!

To my Uncle Joe,
You will be missed terribly by the "Mustos" as you always affectionately called us. I feel blessed that your Great Nephews, Dominick & Jonlouis, & your Great Niece Gianna were able to be a part of your life. I can still hear your voice telling me, "Sue, just remember, keep breathing in & out" every time we parted from a family event.
Thank you for trail blazing the way and bringing us all into your NAPLES paradise. You will forever be a part of every past & future memory created there.
Rest in peace Uncle, you've earned it. And I promise to keep breathing in & out.
Love your Niece,
Susan XOXO
