Hey Ish…it’s Nana..I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to find the words to say to you, but there are none, so I’ll share what you meant to me.
Growing up, my life was full of constants. It was a constant to have my mommy and your mommy along with grandma and grandpa. That was what I knew, until you came along. When you entered my life you taught me how flexible a heart could be because mine grew twice the size when I met you. I will forever hold on to the memories we shared growing up together. How you used to put on a performance for grandma and I to Michael Jackson, or how you’d always want to help her clean. How you named me Nana because you couldn’t pronounce Christina, and how happy it makes me to think of you when I hear Katie call me by that name. You were such a precious baby and brought my life so much joy. I was so looking forward to watching you grow into the man you were becoming and I’m so sorry that opportunity was taken from you so soon.
In my heart, I can still see you and grandma waiting by the front door to welcome me home from school. Please hold tight to her until I’m able to be with you again.
Ishy, you taught me how much a heart can grow and you also remind me how much a heart can hurt. I will love you forever and ever! Give grandma a big hug and kiss for me. Until we meet again.
