Obituary

Vincenza (Dolly) Jennifer DeLuca D'Accordo October 12, 1934 – January 10, 2025 Dolly passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on October 12, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, to Eleanora and Carlo DeLuca, Dolly was a proud first-generation Italian. She spent most of her life in Brooklyn, where she married the love of her life, Vincenzo (Jimmy) Armando D'Accordo, in 1955. They moved to West Babylon in 1996. Dolly was known for her warmth, generosity, and deep love for family. A passionate cook, she delighted in preparing meals for anyone who stopped by. She cherished entertaining, sharing a cup of tea, and was always the first to lend a hand—whether it was playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, washing dishes, or helping in any way. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly called her “Nanny,” and she reveled in every moment spent with them, whether it was playing goalie in a hockey match or joining in a lively round of laser tag. Dolly was also known for her quick wit, always keeping her husband on his toes, and her love of styling her hair to gain a few extra inches of height. Above all, she was devoted to those she loved. A true friend and an amazing listener, she will be deeply missed by all who’ve known her. Dolly was predeceased by her husband Jimmy, her parents Eleanora and Carlo DeLuca, her in-laws Anna and Armando D'Accordo, her beloved brother Tony (Connie) DeLuca, her sister Ursula (Mike) Ficara, along with several beloved in-laws. Dolly leaves behind her son Armando (Barbara) D'Accordo, daughter Anna (John) Fitzpatrick, grandchildren Vincent (Cristen) D'Accordo, Cristine (Rob) Schlener, and James Fitzpatrick, and great-grandchildren Vincent, Francesca, and Sophia, in addition to numerous beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
