Stephen Williamson

Obituary

Stephen Richard Williamson, 59, of Levittown, New York, succumbed to cancer while surrounded by his loving family on April 2, 2020. Born March 16, 1961, in Queens, New York, he was the only son of Janet Williamson and the late Richard Williamson. Stephen worked as a glass cutter for 38 years but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his health. Stephen cut glass for high-end applications professionally but also had a knack for creating artistic pieces, which he proudly displayed in his home. Stephen also loved automobiles, especially his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he would take on long scenic rides on byways. His other passions included building intricate models of classic muscle cars and watching various sports games on TV. He was a huge Jets fan; he could often be heard throughout the house chanting, “J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS” during their weekend games. Stephen was no professional handyman but that didn’t stop him from diving into various household projects and helping with whatever was needed.  Stephen is survived by his beloved wife Judy of 27 years, mother Janet, son Christopher, daughter Jessica, and beagle Harley. Stephen was a loving father, son, husband, and friend. A special thank you to the people at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Long Island Hospice Care Network, Saint Vincent De Paul Society, and Saint Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
