Obituary

John Lacitignola 1934-2019 John Lacitignola was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 3, 1934 to Dominick Lacitignola and Rose Malick Lacitignola. John worked for the NYC Dept. of Sanitation for 20 years. John met the love of his life, Theresa Ianari, and they were married on December 17, 1954. They were happily married for 65 years and raised four wonderful children; Maria, Dominick, John and Lisa. John and Theresa taught them the value of hard work, discipline, faith and love of family. They remain a tight knit, loving family to this day. John was a very active man who loved hunting, bowling, fishing, traveling and playing poker, accompanied by a scotch and cigar. He regularly attended St. Patrick's Church and was a committed Christian. John had a big heart, he loved people and they loved him. John and Theresa moved to upstate New York in 1996, where he retired. He built his home with the help of his brother, nephews and his sons. John passed away on October 29, 2019 after battling several illnesses for the past 10 years. He is predeceased by his brother George. He's survived by his wife Theresa, sister Rosemarie Golsong, his four children Maria Failla(Joseph), Dominick Lacitignola(Linda), John Lacitignola (Sheila) and Lisa Forbis (Robert), his 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
