MEYER – Kenneth of Levittown, NY on November 24, 2016 at the age of 81. Passed away surrounded by his wife Jeanne and children Sandra Young (Donald), Lauren DeKoning, Linda Fiordiliso (Jerome), Karen Esposito (Michael), Denise Griffing, and Kenneth Meyer, II (Janine). Cherished by his 16 grandchildren and soon to be expected great-grandchild. Proud Detective of the Nassau County Police Department for over 20 years. During his tenure he received 5 meritorious awards and was named “Detective of the Year” in 1976. After retirement, he was active in the oil spill business and became a spill consultant for worldwide interests of Lloyd’s of London Brokers. He also became an author, currently writing a true crime novel based on one of his detective cases. Family will receive friends Monday, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home: 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10 am, at Holy Family Church Hicksville, NY.
